You’ll notice that a large chunk of comments left on some of our VGChartz blog entries by a fella named “Tom” have been removed. That’s because I did a little digging and discovered that they were actually being posted by none other than VGChartz proprietor and general sower of discontent Brett Walton himself.

I posted a comment pointing this out, and suddenly whomp! - all of Tom’s messages have been removed! And not by me, either - Disqus, the blog’s comment provider, gives users the ability to delete their own posts. So they’re gone forever.

Except they’re not really gone forever, because they’re still sitting in my Admin Panel. I might even post them later, if I’m feeling up to it.

Honestly, Brett; this isn’t doing you any favours. Everything you’ve done so far to defend your site has just made things worse for you, from making provably false statements about Nick, Joseph and myself, to the ad hominem attacks, and now the alt account on the comments.

It would have been a lot simpler if you’d made a single post on your own site saying “VGChartz flatly denies these allegations” and then just stopped. That is where literally everyone else in the world would have left it. But instead, you kept going! I have to admire your tenacity. There’s a line in “Hamlet” about excessive protesting that seems exceptionally pertinent here.
