EGM didn’t exactly “incorrectly” state the number of Leisure Suit Larry games being remade - they claim Replay Games and LSL creator Al Lowe will be “recreating” the mythological fourth game as The Missing Digital Download, which sounds like a big fat lie to me, but what do I know? - but they did post this screenshot claiming it was from the 1991 remake of Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards.

Which is bollocks, obviously. Of course it’s not the 1991 version. If Sierra had put out a game that looked like that in 1991 they’d have been torn apart by fans and critics alike. Of course if they did it now they’d be heaped with praise for eschewing the graphics arms race in favour of something a bit more simple, followed by absolute befuddlement that Sierra had inexplicably wisen fwom the gwave.

For those of you who are wondering, the original 1987 Leisure Suit Larry looks like this, while the 1991 remake looks a bit more like this. The rest of you are, I’m sure, wondering why the Hell I know so much about Leisure Suit Larry. To which the answer is, “I have internet access.”
