GoNintendo: RUMOR - Codemasters confirms return of Dizzy [June 7th, 2010]

Hey, so you remember when VG247’s Stephany Nunneley said that in the run-up to E3 they’d post any rumour “just in case it’s real”, and I responded by making up some horse shit about Team17 developing a new Dizzy title for Codemasters? Well as a joke MonsterVine’s Craig Ballard decided to post the rumour as confirmed and cited as his source “Fuckwit with a Capital F” - which is me, natch.

he also added a “quote” from Codemasters…

“We assure you this title will be 100% safe, the fatal error that plagued past games will not happen this time around. Dizzy will make a fantastic return and we hope he’ll see the same success he once had.”

…which, of course, is entirely made up.

Well Craig’s joke (which, by the way, makes him just as much of a fuckwit - sorry Craig, but you mislead your readers when you post stuff like this, even if it is obviously fake) has taken an interesting turn because as you can see in the screengrab up top, GoNintendo have posted the story.

What’s more, the writer (who goes by the name “RawmeatCowboy”, which I think is listed on page 42 of the Kama-Sutra for the 21st Century Couple) even says that the story is “just too far-fetched for me to believe” - and he posted it on the site anyway!

This is absolutely delicious.
